LOS ANGELES CHILDREN’S EARTH DAY
“STAR ECO Station’s Children’s Earth Day deemed the largest Earth Day event in Los Angeles.”

Culver City, CA. (April 27, 2008)--- The 11th annual Los Angeles Children’s Earth Day Celebration at STAR ECO Station was a day of environmental fun, education and fantastic performances.  This year’s attendance hit a record high with over 20,000 earth day goers. The participation at Earth Day doubled from last year’s celebration; with the addition of two stages and twice as many vendors as last year, the celebration looked more like a convention than a community festival. With celebrity guests appearances by Hip Hop Mogul/Entrepreneur Percy “Master P” Miller, Teen Hip Hop sensation/Actor Romeo Miller and Gee Gee the Magical Giraffee, this year’s Earth Day was a day to remember and a community affair to relish for years to come.  District 26 Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas was also in attendance and accepted the prestigious STAR ECO Station Children’s Environmental Legislature Award for his work, dedication and platform on Earth Preservation.

Festival attendees enjoyed stage performances given by local school children of STAR Education’s after school enrichment programs.  The children performed dance, song and theatrical performances from around the world to reflect the importance and appreciation of Earth Day around the globe.  The little eco stars also presented how important the Earth is to them by giving much needed earth preservation tips to the crowd.  An additional Earth Day treat was given as there were live celebrity performances/appearances including:

  1. Aria Wallace (Nickelodeon’s Roxy Hunter)
  2. Walt Disney Recording star Boo Boo Stewart
  3. Walt Disney Recording star Miki Ishikawa (Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101)
  4. Tequan Richmond (CW’s “Everybody Hates Chris”)
  5. Zachary Isaiah Williams (Nickelodeon’s Romeo!)
  6. Oren Williams (ABC Family Channel’s “Lincoln Heights”)
  7. Kwame ( Nickelodeon’s “Lincoln Avenue All-Stars”)
  8. Kofi (Movie, “The Longshots” w/Ice Cube)
  9. Kwesi (NBC’s “Days of Our Lives”)

With celebrity guest appearances/performances, community performances, vendors and environmentalists this children’s earth day bonanza was definitely a day of fab-fun in the fast lane!
