Description: Student will learn how to say, when their birthday is and what their favorite color. Teachers will be introducing the months in Spanish. Review numbers 1-31.
Goal: For each student to be able to understand the question, “when is their birthday?” (¿Cuando es tu cumpleaños?) and “What is your favorite color?”(¿Cual es tu color favorito?)
Objectives:
1. Students will be able to use the name of the colors in a sentence.
2. Students will learn the meaning of the word “cumpleaños” (birthday).
3. Students will learn the meaning of the word “favorito” (favorite).
4. Students will be able to use the Spanish names of the numbers in a sentence.
Materials:
1. Pencils/crayons/ color pencils
2. Paper
Procedures:
1. We will review the seventeen colors in the color chart.
2. Ask students to come up to the front to point out colors he/she are wearing.
For example: ¿Que color es el pantalon? (What color are his/her pants?)
3. Review the numbers from 1-31 in Spanish.
4. After reviewing the numbers, ask randomly, “¿Que numero es este?” (What number is this?), to test if they know the numbers in Spanish.
5. Then tell them the meaning of the word “cumpleaños” (birthday).
6. Students will be introduced to the question, When is your birthday? and how to respond back.
For example: ¿Cuando es tu cumpleaños?
Mi cumpleaños es el ____. (My birthday is _______.)
7. Students will get into pairs and practice asking the question and responding back.
8. Introduce the question, What is your favorite color? and how to respond back.
For example: ¿Cual es tu color favorito?
Mi color favorito es _______. (My favorite color is _____.)
9. Students will get into pairs and practice asking the question and responding back.
