BOLLYWOOD BHANGRA BEATS
Here’s an East Indian Dance class with fitness flair. Come take part in a high energy, fun-filled class that emphasizes classical Indian rhythms, Punjabi style Bhangra, and everyone’s favorite Hindi film style choreography, set to India’s latest Bollywood sounds.

Bhangra is a lively form of music and dance that originated in the Punjab region in South Asia. While Bhangra began as a part of harvest and baisakhi festival celebrations, it found its way to the performance stage after the division of Punjab in 1947. The tradition spread slowly and developed into a unique folk dance form. Bhangra has come of age and is now performed at every major celebration and in clubs.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Everyone is a Dancer! Everyday we dream of stories and ideas that are rooted in the language of movement. Come take part in an exciting class that focuses on self-expression, choreography, and music appreciation. Here’s a chance to learn how to use movement to communicate the stories of your life!

Young children need a variety of concrete, multi-sensory movement experiences to stimulate various types of development. They also need an abundance of fantasy and creative play to internalize and integrate such experiences. Creative Movement is a joyful way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy, stimulate imagination and promote creativity.

GIVE IT PROPS!
Twirling batons, hula hooping and spinning poi… Here’s your chance to take part in an action packed class that teaches the art of incorporating props. In this class, students will learn the art of baton twirling, dancing with the hula-hoop and the intricate tricks behind spinning poi.

Students will learn to use a prop by moving their bodies. This activity encourages students to focus on balance, a variety of body movements, and making the prop central to their movements.

HIP HOP
Come get down to a hip-hop funk!! Bring your best moves and come prepared to learn super fly street beats, improvisational styles and even integrate some of the latest break dance moves into your very own music video choreography.

Hip hop dance refers to dance styles, mainly street dance styles, primarily danced to hip hop music, or that have evolved as a part of the hip hop culture. Hip hop dancing is evolving in many different directions today, heavily influenced by the evolution of hip hop music and its popularity in media.

I WISH I WAS A BALLERINA
Come learn the language of Ballet… Tombe, Pas de bourree, Pirouette! From the courts of Kings and Queens, such as Louis XIV to the contemporary choreography of Balanchine; Ballet has rooted itself as the common language of the Dance world. Here’s your chance to study the techniques of the masters.

Ballet is an academic dance form and technique that is taught in ballet schools according to specific methods. In general, proper ballet technique requires good placement (or alignment), and turnout. Students are required to learn the names, meanings, and precise technique of each movement they learn. Emphasis is also put on building strength and developing flexibility.

INTRODUCTION TO CHOREOGRAPHY
This class introduces students to the fundamental elements of dance technique and vocabulary, while allowing them the opportunity to pattern dance movement to create original performance pieces. While exploring and combining locomotor and axial movements, students will work in groups to discover how sequencing, levels and quality of movement can be combined in different ways to create their own choreography.

Choreography (literally “dance-writing”, also known as “dance composition”), is the art of making structures in which movement occurs. Choreography is the stylistic use of all our available skills and means to make dance as art. Choreography is a way of working, of digging into personal experience for something to express in movement.

JAZZ IT UP
Come step into the world of Modern Jazz. From Cole to Fosse to MTV, Jazz dance has spread its roots from Broadway to the popular culture of Music Video. This action packed class takes you through a dynamic workout that tests your flexibility and teaches you the technique necessary to spin through any dance class.

Jazz is an exciting and ever evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, passion and life. Classes explore body isolations of the head, shoulders, ribcage, feet and arms and encourage individual expression and the development of personal style.

This is a percussive form of expression integrating high-energy movements.
